My First Brewers Game

If I'm going to be honest, the only team I care about is the Packers. I never really followed any other teams or sports. I have been to NHL and AHL hockey games and also some minor league baseball games, but these were more on a one-off basis for an event or to hang with friends.

For the Brewer's game, the primary purpose was to hang out with friends. Victoria and I have some friends from Texas that we keep in contact with. They have two kids around Little Dude's age. They are into baseball and have made it a goal to visit the MLB stadiums. Their traveling to MLB stadiums is the same premise as my going to county courthouses.

They took a road trip, and I know they visited St. Louis and Chicago first. They then planned to head to Milwaukee and Minneapolis before heading back to Texas. Since Milwaukee isn't too far away from Madison, we planned to meet up and go to the game.

On Saturday, we hit the road after lunch.

We planned to go to the Milwaukee Zoo before the game. The kids really seemed to enjoy seeing the animals there.

Eventually, we made it to American Family Field. There were tons of people tailgating before the game.

Victoria pre-bought parking. It ended up being a ways away. The nice thing is they had a shuttle. That definitely helped versus having to carry Little Dude (he's starting to get heavy).

We went through security and made it into the stadium. Little Dude was intrigued by the views.

For food, Victoria and Little Dude had chicken tenders and fries.

I got brats.

Since American Family Field used to be Miller Park, I got a Miller Lite to salute that. People still refer to it as Miller Park in the whole scheme of things.

Not going to lie, the game was super boring. The Brewers hit a single home run to win 1-0. Besides that home run, I don't think anyone ever touched third base.

After the game, we waited for the shuttle. There was a bit of a line. Judging by the traffic, it would be nicer to wait on the bench than sitting in the car.

Our turn on the shuttle eventually arrived. The driver was nice and took us right up to our car. We then hit the road for Madison.

It was past Little Dude's bedtime, so he fell asleep quickly. Victoria and I were a bit hungry, so we stopped at a Kwik Trip along the way for a late-night snack.

It seems like going to a Brewers game is one of those bucket list things you do as a Wisconsinite. I can say I checked this off the list. The game itself was boring, but seeing our friends was fun. It was nice to catch up with them. If we visit them in Texas, maybe I'll end up at a Texas Rangers or Houston Astros game.
