When I drive through Minnesota, seeing the signs for Austin and Houston always caught my attention. In many ways, it makes me wonder the similarities and differences between each location in Texas and Minnesota.
Obviously, the populations of the Texas cities are much larger than the Minnesota cities. There’s more distance between each city in Texas, but in both states, Houston is to the east of Austin.
Both Houstons are actually named for the same person.
Each Austin is named for a different person. Austin R. Nichols is for Austin, MN and Stephen F. Austin for Austin, TX. Needless to say, I think it would be cool to explore all four of these cities. From a surface level, there’s some pretty cool comparisons. I bet if I explore and dig a bit deeper, I can find some pretty amazing stuff!
