Location of Light Switches Texas vs. Wisconsin

When I travel, I like to compare the everyday little things that many people don’t notice. Since I’ve been living in Texas for over half a decade, I’ve gotten accustomed to reaching for the light switch that is at about chest level.

When I’d visit Wisconsin, I’d find myself hitting the wall at chest-level and realized the light switch was actually at about waist-level.

Obviously, two different states have two different sets of building codes. It’s just kind of weird how easy it is to get in a routine and not notice something this mundane. I guess it’s one of those quirky things I didn’t realize until I moved across the country and started traveling a ton.
